Crucial’s LPCAMM2 Reaches DDR5-8533

Crucial today announced the launch of its LPDDR5X-8533 LPCAMM2 Modules: It’s part number CT64G85C2LP5X (64GB) and CT32G85C2LP5X (32GB) being priced at $451.99 and $232.99 respectively. While that’s a significant leap in price over the SODIMMs we’re accustomed to seeing, it’s also a significant leap in data rate. Though Crucial only suggests checking compatibility with your manufacturer, a quick check of its compatibility tool lists both the Dell Pro Max 14 MC14250 and Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 as among those compatible.

Given the narrow range of compatible products, we’d think that Crucial could help its clients along by displaying compatible products more prominently: We certainly wouldn’t mind starting our search with a 52% gain in memory bandwidth compared to typical DDR5-5600 SODIMMs!
