AMD Announces AM5 X3D Pricing & Availability
AMD today announced pricing and availability for its Ryzen 7000X3D processors, ie, 3D V-Cache CPU models for Socket AM5.
For those who don’t remember, 3D V-Cache was the cache-layering technology that allow AMD’s Socket AM4 to finally conquer Intel’s LGA 1200 in gaming, when its 5800X3D launched a year ago. Many of us have been waiting to see what the tech would bring AMD’s new AM5, and we’ll soon know with the Ryzen 9 models 7950X3D and 7900X3D launching Feb 28. This means that AMD is giving us two weeks to pay off our Valentine’s Day credit card bill before we hit the card again for this $700 expense.
Model | Cores/Threads | Boost/Base Frequency | Cache | TDP | SEP (USD) |
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D | 16C/32T | Up to 5.7 GHz / 4.2 GHz | 144MB | 120W | $699 |
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D | 12C/24T | Up to 5.6 GHz / 4.4 GHz | 140MB | 120W | $599 |
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 8C/16T | Up to 5.0 GHz / 4.2 GHz | 104MB | 120W | $449 |
Those of us who lack the funds to pay off a $700 or even a $600 expenditure will be pleased to see that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will launch at a far more wallet friendly $450. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until April 6th. Fortune favors the bold.
