Corsair’s Colossal HX1500i Drops To $260 Today!
Corsair’s HX series has lead the industry in Platinum efficiency and quality, so we were surprised to see its super-capacity 1500W version drop below $400 and even startled to watch the temporary sale price drop even below $300. We don’t even think the thing can be manufactured, shipped and distributed for $260, so why would it be selling so cheap?

This is probably an inventory reduction of sorts for a power supply that, while maintaining its legendary quality, has become a bit old-hat on the features side: Those who really need this much power will probably be running multiple graphics cards, those running multiple graphics cards will probably be using them for GPU Compute rather than gaming, NVidia cards are the easiest to extract maximum compute power from, and the latest generations of these all have 12VHPWR inputs. Anyone who wants to use the HX1500i in this manner will be stuck using adapter cables.

We’re noncommittal on your use of dual PCIe to 12VHPWR adapters, but those who have other purposes to use this much power will be particularly unperturbed by the HX1500i’s classic connector set. Either way, when it comes to delivering power at this quality you can’t beat today’s price!
