TeamGroup Adds T-Create Drive & USB3 Gen2 Enclosure Ahead Of Holidays
Teamgroup is marketing its latest Graphene-enhanced NVMe SSD to creative types by adding the Classic PCIe 4.0 DL SSD to its T-Create series. As Graphene requires some kind of substrate for mechanical support, we’ll assume that this new DL model’s heat spreader has a screen-printed metal backing as seen in the company’s recent Cardea A440 Pro PS5.
A look at the manufacturer specs shows that the new drive will be a couple ticks behind the previous Special Edition drive, but will also come at a far friendlier price: MSRP is $206 for the 2TB and $106 for the 1TB model.

Assuming that this drive is still faster than the one that’s already in your machine, you’ll want to do something with the old one. TeamGroup has a great space for it.
Barely any larger than the drive itself, the $40 (MSRP) EC01 NVMe 4.0 M.2 enclosure with integrated USB3 Gen2 adapter offers users the full bandwidth of a single Gen2 link (10Gb/s), assuming that your drive can keep up. That would be a grand assumption as hardly any NVMe 4.0 drives have even come close to that high data rate.

TeamGroup says that its users will need to wait until mid-December for the T-Create Classic PCIe 4.0 DL SSD, but that the EC01 enclosure will be available later this month. With that last bit of good news, we’ve reached out to the company to request a review sample.
